The Climate Act is a proposed law to establish a national climate change adaptation and mitigation framework to ensure the long-term safety, security and prosperity of Australia by achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

In November 2020, more than 70 certified B Corps signed a joint letter to Australian parliamentarians to support the Climate Act, a private member’s bill proposed by Zali Steggall MP. In addition to the joint letter, a number of certified B Corps made submissions responding to the Parliamentary inquiry.

As of September 2021, the Climate Act has yet to be adopted but the number of supporters (currently 96,000+) continue to grow.

For more information, visit the Climate Act website or read the proposed legislation.
